Nuclear power plants

I against with Nuclear Power plants because if accidentally same

accident happens it will be disaster for our environment, life and for our future

generation. It would kill the people and makes theme sick, cancer and genetic

damage.

Uranium-235 is the isotope of uranium that is used in nuclear

reactors and for Nuclear Power Plants also they used the Plutonium, too. Nuclear

Power Station operate it the same like Conventional Thermal Power Station, only

the different between theme the fuel. For example in the Conventional Thermal

Power Station they use oil, gas and coal but for the Nuclear Power Station they use

the isotope of uranium and Plutonium. In Canada, they use Uranium-235 for fuel of

Nuclear Power plants. That Nuclear fission of Uranium-235 heats the water and

turn into steam than the turbine which activates a generator which produces

electricity.

The Chernobyl disaster was a nuclear reactor accident in the

Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the Soviet Union. It was the worst nuclear power

plant accident in history. I am against because; it killed people, affected areas and

cancer deaths. it is so dangerous and it is not safety.

By the middle of august 1986, about 90,000 people were evocated

from the 81 effected towns and villages. Radiation affected more then 11.36 million

acres of fertile land in Ukraine. However, if the accident happens it will be affected

our fertile land and farmland so, it is disaster and I against with them.

The 2005 report prepared by the Chernobyl Forum, World Health

Organization (WHO), attributed 56 direct deaths (47 accident workers, and nine

children with thyroid cancer), and estimated that there may be 4,000 extra cancer

deaths among the approximately 600,000 most highly exposed people. Extra cancer

deaths among and slackness, it is disaster and I against.

Disaster of Nuclear Power it would affect his area and other city which is

near to that place. For example when the accident in the Chernobyl happened

however, the 2006 TORCH report stated that half of the volatile particles had

landed outside Ukraine, Belarus and Russia. I against no control after accident.

CANDU reactors already supply 15% of Canada's electricity,

including half the needs of the country's industrial and economic engine, Ontario.

Remarkably, they do this while creating relatively small amount of solid waste, with

an operating cost among the lowest of the available generating options. Small

amount of solid waste and makes the great current capacity it is excellent and I for

that great current.

Nuclear power has been presented as providing net environmental

benefits. Specifically, nuclear power makes no contribution to global warming

through the emission of carbon dioxide. Nuclear power also produces no notable

sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, or particulates. When nuclear power is produced,

nothing is burned in a conventional sense so I for with because no pollution.

I against with Nuclear Power plants because it is look like a nuclear

bomb. If the places are not safety and same grope would attack them it will be very

bad for our health, environment and planet.

Against Nuclear Power:
I against with the nuclear power plants because it is so dangerous if some explosion

happen by accident and his effects will effect on that environment for a long time to

our generations.

Uranium-235 is the isotope of uranium that is used in nuclear reactors. Uranium-235 can produce 3.7 million times as much energy as the same amount of coal. As an example, 7 trucks, each carrying 6 cases of 2-12 foot high fuel assemblies, can fuel a 1000 Megawatt-electrical (MWe) reactor for 1.5 years. During this period, approximately 2 metric tons of Uranium-235 (of the 100 metric tons of fuel - uranium dioxide) would be consumed. To operate a coal plant of the same output would require 1 train of 89 cars -100 tons of coal each car - EVERY day. Over 350,000 tons of ash would be produced AND over 4 million tons of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides would be released to the environment.

Nuclear power is the problem, not the solution!
Europe must stop wasting taxpayers' money to protect a dangerous and expensive technology. 20 years after the Chernobyl disaster, nuclear power remains the most dangerous mechanism for electricity generation. Nuclear energy is also no solution to climate change. And, globalised terrorism makes nuclear power stations and the uncontrolled proliferation of nuclear material a serious security hazard.
Environmentalists Protest in Sofia against Belene Nuclear Power Plant
9 September 2008, TuesdayProtesters say a missing assessment of the eventual impact on environment, as well as missing license for the technical project of NPP Belene are the main motives behind the rally, staged in front of the Council of Ministers and attended by few.Last week Bulgaria's Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev turned the first sod of the plant announcing the "renaissance of Bulgaria's nuclear energy."Energy Minister Petar Dimitrov said the actual construction works were going to start in May 2009 after the Nuclear Regulation Committee issued the required construction permit.

While the tender is being held, the coalition, which is led by the Electric Engineers Chamber (EMO) will meet in the Kızılay district of Ankara and will march to the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry building, where the tender will take place. One of the coordinators of the group, Mehmet Atay, said they are expecting people who are part of the coalition to demonstrate outside of Ankara, too.

In 1963 the Atomic Energy Commission asked Dr. John Gofman and Dr. Arthur Tamplin to undertake a series of long range studies on potential dangers that might arise from the "peaceful uses of the atom." Assuming that the Atomic Energy Commission seriously wanted to know the truth about the safety of nuclear electricity and its generation, the authors attacked the problem with gusto.
Here's what they learned:
1-Radiation from rapidly expanding Atomic Energy programs is a far, far more serious hazard to human life than anyone had ever conceived it to be.
2; Atomic radiation will result in many times more deaths from cancer and leukemia than previously thought possible. The potential damage to future generations from genetic damage has been even more grossly underestimated.

Nuclear power good for environment

While we devote unprecedented resources to environmental-improvement strategies that have enhanced the quality of life in almost every American city and community, a serious threat to the environment remains ignored. Today's clean air depends upon non-polluting nuclear energy, but precisely because of this dependency, pollution prevention may be approaching an about-face, just as it is achieving enormous benefits.

Nuclear Power: Good Past, Strong Future
Ontarians have been put on notice that around 24,000 megawatts of new electricity supply (or conservation) will be needed over the next two decades. This is equivalent to 80% of the province's current grid capacity.
Since it takes the better part of a decade to plan and build large generating plants, the Ontario Power Authority (www.powerauthority.on.ca) urges the debate to begin soon over how to fill the impending generation gap.
As a backdrop to this debate, the North American public is increasingly aware of the need for effective environmental stewardship.
Fortunately, in Canada we have spent the last 50 years developing a technology that can supply baseload electricity more efficiently than almost anything else on earth, with minimal impact on the biosphere.
CANDU reactors already supply 15% of Canada's electricity, including half the needs of the country's industrial and economic engine, Ontario. Remarkably, they do this while creating virtually no air pollution and a relatively small amount of solid waste, with an operating cost among the lowest of the available generating options.

Costly nuclear power poses unnecessary safety and environmental risks, is heavily dependent on taxpayer and ratepayer subsidies, and generates deadly radioactive waste. Building new nuclear power plants will also not effectively address climate change. Public Citizen, Advocates phasing out nuclear power in favor of safe, clean and affordable energy alternatives.

Writing plan

Main Idea:

How the setting influences the jockey’s (Bitsy Barlow’s) character in the novella.

First major point:

The three men and the jockey’s mood and how the pleasures of the three men influenced the jockey.

Second major point:

How the jockey was passing his time and he always thought about his friend. jockey was quiet and alone.

Third major point:

Crowded of the dining room and the people were sitting and enjoying with their friends that influences the jockey

Conclusion:

Friday, May 16, 2008

I will write about, how the setting influences the jockey’s character in the novella. The jockey’s name was Bitsy Barlow. He his dwarfed body grew rigid, his hands stiffened so that the fingers curled inward like gray day.

Jockey had ridden that afternoon, when he came in the dining room the three men were sitting. The rich man who was the owner of the horse, Sylvester was the trainer and the bookie was Simmons. They were eating a dinner and drinking the whiskey. They enjoyed with each other with out of thinking to the mood of the jockey’s (Bitsy Barlow’s.) When Bitsy saw the three men mirthfulness and their pleasures, the jockey’s mood changed and he became more sad and anguished.

The jockey, his character changed during the last six months because his particular friend (the Irish kid) got hurt on the track and broke a leg and a hip. Before the accident, jockey and his friend always were playing rummy and reading the sports page together. Now, he is alone and he missed his lovely friend. He passes his time alone and he does not have a friend to pass time with his or her. He does not do the interesting thing for enjoying and he always sad.

The dining room was crowded because of the racing season. Most hotels in the towns were full. The dining room where decorates by bouquets of august roses. All the tables in the dining room occupied and cause of a lot of adjoining, bar became a warm. The busy place like that, for sure influences the jockey character. When he was coming in the dining room and seeing the people were enjoying with each other’s but he was lonely because his particular friend was not there.

When the jockey saw the three men were eating, drinking and they were an excellent mood with out of thinking the jockey’s sadness. That influences the jockey’s character and he misses his friend. All the time, he things about his friend and he passed his time on dyspeptic. The crowded place influences the jockey’s character too, because when he saw a lot of adjoining set together and he is alone on that influence him.
